Looking to add that something ‘special’ to your wedding or reception? Consider uplights. Uplighting is growing in popularity at weddings and receptions because it enhances the entire event, literally bring an entire room to life. Wedding uplighting is the strategic placement of LED lights on the ground giving an ambiance of glow to any event.
Colored uplighting will turn a boring room with plain walls into a colorful and unique space. If expertly coordinated in advance, these color schemes can be used to bring out the accent colors at your event and it works especially well at weddings! The colors can match your bridesmaid dresses, flowers and more. A popular choice for brides and grooms is to uplight the head table. Not only do uplights draw attention and make the head table a nice focal point for your guests but they also look great in photos.
Your photographer will have a wonderful opportunity to capture special pictures during the toasts with a uniquely lit background tailored to your specific tastes. Light fixtures project washes of light adding color, warmth and depth complementing the colors you are using for your decor. The lights that we use are LED and battery powered.
Here at DJ Cutt Entertainment we work with the bride and groom on our lighting packages and find the perfect match for your big day. The LED fixtures are customized to match your theme. This type of lighting is key to create a high end, elegant, high contrast look. The extra light at each of the tables allows the overall ambient light in the room to be lowered allowing us to create the perfect ambiance. Very narrow beams of light are focused on specific elements in the room highlighting them. Centerpieces, the cake table, place cards, guest book area, sweet heart tables and bar areas can all benefit from this type of lighting.
When it comes to placement, spotlights are generally best directly above whatever is being lit up – this avoids as many shadows as possible. It’s also best to place them high up above guests’ heads so that they’re subtle and unobtrusive. Not only is this perfect for highlighting all of the beautiful decor, but it also provides the right amount of lighting for intimate conversation without blinding the guests.
Spotlights are great for bringing attention to something that seems so minuscule and allowing it to flourish in light. For weddings, this may mean the dance floor so that everyone is drawn to the sweet first dance, whereas a corporate event would have spotlights focusing on the stage or wherever the speaker(s) will be standing. Spotlights aren’t a one-size-fits-all piece which makes sense seeing as no two events are alike! Various options offer different intensities, different area size and even different colors.
Gobo lighting is a form of Monogram lighting. We’ll work together to come up with a design and have it created into a template called a Gobo which is mounted into a light. Gobo's can be a set of decorative initials, the newlyweds name, or a special design reflecting off the couples designated area(s).
Gobo materials range from standard metal to glass and come in customized colors. Patterns can be matched to an events design(s) to provide a fully immersed look and feel of a room.
Monogrammed lighting on the dance floor or a reflection on the walls is another way to add character and enhance a space during your event(s).
We also use intelligent lighting computer software that controls the lights, allowing beautiful prints to be displayed throughout the space. This option will bring the walls to life. These are the same lights see on American Idol behind the judges.
Lighting is the most cost effective way to transform and enhance your reception
space. Choose a company who strives to understand your event, asks questions, and is able to show you what each of the lighting effects will do to a space.
